Accessibility
This site should work for everyone who needs help with a heating or cooling problem, whether they read it on a phone, with a screen reader, by keyboard or at high zoom.
The standard used
Pages are built and checked against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What has been done
- One main heading per page, with headings in a logical order.
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
- Every link and call button works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet AA contrast. The navy text on the marigold call buttons has a contrast ratio of 9.2 to 1.
- Illustrations carry short text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Questions and answers are plain text, not hidden behind expanding panels.
- Layouts reflow on small screens and when text is enlarged, and animation is switched off for people who prefer reduced motion.
Known gaps
Call tracking and analytics come from outside providers whose code this site does not control. Some external sites linked from here, such as government licence look-ups, may not meet the same standard.
